Wellington

Wellington, NZ. 7th October 2014 Day 29

The storm raged all night.  The Captain had to make a big course change as the 100 knot winds were hitting us broad side.  We were an hour late to Wellington and many people whined.  But I'm sure they would have whined more if we took on those winds!

We still had huge winds in the morning. Andy commented that he would go back to bed until we were tie up before trying to get dressed.

And then.....we turned out of the Cook Straits into the Wellington Bay and it was like someone flicked a switch. In a two minute period we went from putting a hand on furniture as you walked around and sitting down to put sock on - ---- to like sailing on a lake. Dead flat. Bizarre!

Once we were out of the wind the water was so calm and everything was beautiful looking.

Storm covers.

Sorry about the view you paid for.  But waves were smashing on your window!!

Tug boats were on hand as there were strong winds. One entertained us by spinning in circles up and down the length of the ship.

I love Wellington.  It's so trendy, artsy and cool.

Ta Papa Museum had a dinosaur display on with a great add in the forecourt. It roared ever few minutes.

Sarah got coffee.

And I got my favorite - fantastic hot drink - Lemon, Ginger & Honey. So good.

We then went back and had Sarah's stitches removed.  Yahh!

Dinner tonight was an Anniversary party for Carlos and Nancy. 32 Years!!!!

It was much fun. Even the Captain came to join us.

Carlos and Nancy love fine jewellery. So we got them some "genuine black pearls and an Opal ring'. Hope they look after them. They did cost almost $5 NZ.

Then of course we helped Kelly with a song or two.  We were all great!
